On the pulse: Brand consistency insights

tl:dr

Our recent waitlist survey of over 800 designers, brand strategists, and revops leaders highlights design inconsistency (30%) and time-consuming workflows (25%) as the top challenges in presentation creation. While 70% of respondents use Figma for brand design, few build presentations there. Instead, they rely on PowerPoint and Google Slides. Tools that fragment processes and brand consistency. This report analyzes and quantifies the cost of inefficient workflows and brand dilution, and proposes a streamlined solution.

Purpose of the survey

We conducted this survey to understand:

  • Key pain points in the presentation creation process.
  • How design and go-to-market teams collaborate.
  • The tools shaping today’s presentation workflows.

Key Findings

1. Inconsistent design is the top challenge

30% of respondents identified design inconsistency as their primary issue, with presentations often featuring off-brand fonts, colors, and outdated layouts.

2. Time-consuming workflows drain resources

25% reported that creating presentations is excessively time-intensive. For example, if a company produces 50 decks monthly and each requires an extra hour to refine, that’s 600 hours (or 15 workweeks) lost annually to reformatting.

3. Figma dominates design, not presentations

While 70% of designers use Figma for brand assets, only a small fraction create corporate presentations there. Switching tools disrupts workflows, reduces designer control, and introduces inconsistencies.

4. PowerPoint and Google Slides prevail

These tools dominate B2B presentation creation, forcing teams to rely on outdated platforms that hinder efficiency and brand alignment.

The Cost of inefficient presentation workflows

  • Erodes trust and revenue: Inconsistent branding undermines credibility, potentially costing up to 25% of deals.
  • Wastes time: Designers spend hours correcting slides instead of advancing creative work.
  • Increases frustration: Go-to-market teams struggle with design constraints, while designers face repetitive fixes.

A streamlined solution: deckd + Figma

deckd integrates with Figma to create a seamless presentation workflow:

  1. Template synchronization: Designers update layouts in Figma, and changes automatically apply to all decks.
  2. Content-focused editing: Go-to-market teams edit text and visuals without worrying about fonts or grids.
  3. Unified platform: Create, present, share and track presentations in one interface.

This approach ensures on-brand presentations in minutes, freeing designers to focus on strategic work and go-to-market teams to work efficiently.
